About Nazanin Safavian
“If you can't explain it to a six-year-old, you don't understand it yourself.”
― Albert Einstein
Nazanin obtained her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and her master in Biomedical Engineering. She is currently working as a researcher in NIAG and develops image analysis algorithms, which she applies to the study of human brain structure and preparing patient’s volumetric analysis. She is also a member of seizure mapping team. Currently, her research interest lies in studying neuroimaging biomarkers (structural, DTI, functional and connectivity characteristics) in psychiatric and degenerative disorders.
Her main goal is to understand how to extract relevant knowledge from medical images, to learn about the processes within the human body, to apply methods during the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases, in order to improve the well-being of the patient.
